Got this priceless email this morning (see below) - told him to follow his dog around a couple days (kidding).

Hi Jim.

Do you carry in stock, or can you let me know where I can get hold of the white plastic insert that fits into the slide and holds the cable and needle in place on your flat slides. I had one ping off on me while fitting and my dog decided that they looked to much like treats to resist.

That dog turned a perfectly good part into a crappy part.
Sell the dog on eBay

Uh huh, classic 'my dog did it' and 'I know someone who knows someone that has a problem-...' uh huh...

Hehe a new low for someone to stoop too in service of a Commando.

Be sure to include "extremely rare" in the description, and price it sky high like some others do.

Just curious, Jim, what did you tell him as far as the part goes. I had one bounce around on the garage floor and my dog is always sniffing about picking up what ever to take out into the yard and nourish itself. I did find the part though, in the garage not in a yard bisquit.

I have seen some parts available at PSEP Pat's Small Engine Parts. Google "KEIHIN carb parts" and look for his site. Not everything is there but many stuff crosses over like the part in question.

I did find a crumpled up dollar bill once in a load. Hosed it off and gave to the boy for raking the yard. No harm, no foul.

It'll come out sooner or later.

Better hope it doesn't give him gas.
The only thing worse than dog breath is... well you know

I have 2 Labs that can clear a room.

So far they haven't eaten any bike parts, aluminum shavings, no parts.

Anything can get lost or eaten or chewed etc. I make these various parts available to my customers on email request at a reasonable cost even if its not on my website. No one wants to follow their dog around waiting for their "lost" and somewhat modified part to be delivered.

Translated: Dog hasn't taken a shit yet.
