Do someone ever replace his triplex chain by a duplex chain from the Chainman?

No idea about that, but I do know the Norton race team with PW used the duplex chain on the primary drive

Hi Yves.
I have used this for three years without a problem. Stretch less than triple chain with my use. I don’t want to buy anything else. Exelent produkt.

I also installed one a couple years ago. I haven't had any problems at all.

I've fitted one this year. I've done about 4,000 miles / 6400km without any problems.

When using the duplex chain, do you machine off the unused teeth on both the crank sprocket and the clutch housing(chain wheel)?
Regards Mike

Chainman duplex are regularly used as replacements for triplex primary on Laverdas. Highly regarded in Laverda circles as a good improvement. No need to machine off spare outer row of teeth.
Regards, Andre

Would it be worth the effort to machine off the unused bits for a marginal weight saving?

Value analysis is a good way to save weight on a motorcycle. You could save several pounds weight on a Commando racer by ditching the isolastics and rebalancing the crank.

I love the chainman's chains! Cam, Primary and final drive all from Andy. None of them stretch much after the first adjustment. My cam chain has an auto adjuster on it so I have just noticed that it stays in the same place for a few years now. The final drive has been on trips of 1000 miles several times with no adjustment and the duplex primary had to be adjusted one time and that was it for at least 4000 miles.
