Gentleman on the forum mentioned he sent three discs to Disc Brake Reconditioners only to find out they are no longer around. I'm not sure why he didn't call first.

Can anyone confirm that Disc Brake Reconditioners is no longer around?

I sent a couple discs to DBR 5-6 years ago. Spoke to Gary, got the job done. Tried again about 3 years ago, no answer or VM on the phone.
The contact # was 618-593-3410 or 618-344-7683. He used to be on Ebay too, but haven't seen him there either. He also advertised in the Chicago Norton Owners newsletter. So I don't know.

Sent the last batch to True disc. The only difference is Gary @ DBR would blast and paint the disc centers before he sent them back. True disc does not.
So if you go with True disc it's a lot easier to blast the centers and outer edge before you send them so you can tape and paint them when they come back.

I usually blast and paint the center and edge before sending them and when I mask, I have the paint go slightly into the part that will be ground. The grinding then leaves a perfect paint edge. Just be careful to not overdue it.

I had Tom at Truedisk blast the center and edges prior to final grind. After getting the disc back it was a bit of work to mask and trim but I was able to paint edges, inside of holes and center section. A sharp exacto helped tremendously. Tom does a great job grinding flat while minimizing total material removed. Highly recommend.

I had a couple of quotes on this side of the pond to have my disc surface ground/trued up & have both the baking surface and inner sections drilled (very much like in the above photo) ... and to be honest i was taken aback by the prices i was being given.
For only a few pound more i purchased a new drilled disc from RGM
