Hi
I have owned my norton sence new and in all the years of riding it I have met quite a few women who ride Nortons and some that aren't that tall and they never had any troubles kicking them over, if you have the pistons in the right postion and the bike is well turned they are easy to kick over, I have also kick mine over many times in the shed with bare foot ( no shoes or boots )...

Yes, there's a few of us out there! :D

I took a quick look at that website. I'll have to read it later when I have more time. I see we have one thing in common: we're both former Yamaha DT1 owners! Mine had been well-used when I got it and the bike had some random electrical issues. I'd be riding down the road and everything would go dead - lights, ignition, everything. I never did find the problem. I sold the bike after a couple of years mainly because of that. I've never owned a British bike that was that bad!

I don't have much trouble kicking mine over either, except maybe in the winter when the oil is cold and I'm too lazy to drain the sump.

The buyer of my alloy tank monoshock 850 was a woman. She gave the bike a couple of laudable kicks but was too excited to concentrate, it was getting dark and cold, and her husband cut in and fired it off first kick. She also had these tall heels, so that was a factor.

I'm sure she's got it down now and has been enjoying it ever since.

My wyfe has no big issues with kickstarting bikes, beyond the fact that she is petite / short inseam and has to have provision for the bike not to fall over after she kicks!

How often us tough guys forget that in many ways, women can be just as strong, if not stronger. Years ago, I took tai kwan do at a dojo that was run by a husband-wife team, the little Mrs. there could have easily KO'd Mike Tyson, I'm sure.

But Ashley, BAREFOOT??? I don't disbelieve you, but why oh why?

No way I'd kick mine barefoot. Even wearing sneakers gives me a sore foot. I need good sturdy hiking boots or motorcycle boots.

I've learned long ago not to underestimate a woman's will power or muscle power when they want to use it. I've gotten two 10 CR- 2S Combats easy to hand start.
Combats may be the world's hardest to manual start bikes ever made w/o compression releases though, d/t kicker leverage and size of bores. But eve so its well within most of health humans to get em going. Picking up a fallen bike is main thing I've found worries women to take em out on their own.

Interestingly most the women shown on vintage or current motrocycle don't wear nearly as much or any common protective coverage, so may be braver deep down than their daddy.

Hi
Bike in shed, boots upstairs in the house, to lazy to go get boots when need to start bike for some reason, but it always starts first kick so just put up with a little pain with barefoot HeHe...
