After finishing reassembly of my forks I realised they were originally missing that little seal at the bottom of the damper tubes. So the question is do I need to rip everything down and get those or would putting a little liquid gasket on then screwing the bolt in seal them enough?
Thanks

Are you talking about number 26, Fiber washer?

You gotta have it in there.
It's a form fit and cushions the damper against the bottom of the slider. It may work for a while without it, but may fail over time and you sure do not want to put any goop internally in there.
Although only $.39 a piece you don't want ot be with out them

It is just a matter of the big nut on top and the retainer bolt on the bottom.

A word of caution, I have found fiber washers tucked off to the side on the bottom of the tube before.

The fiber washer also separates the steel damper tube from the alloy slider. It's good to have that cushioning there.
I suppose that you could make a proper sized gasket from sheet material in a pinch.
A bit of silicon seal on both sides of the gasket will keep it in place during assembly.

Great thanks. You wouldn't happen to know if theyd be supplied in a full gasket set? As I have one coming in the mail
