Newbie here..
I am in the process of working the bugs out of a 1974 850 I rebuilt..Want to vent the crankcase pressure with some sort of reed valve...
I've searched the posts here, but does anyone know of a valve that I can purchase that will do what I need ?

This bike runs GREAT !..With a few exceptions, I am in love with it...Took me 5 years to do...I'm glad I saw it to completion..
Still trying to get the tire size thing down...I have a 18inch wm3/120 on the rear...a 90/90 on the front...I think that may be a problem...The handleing is a bit squishy..Using Avon Roadrunners....
I think I prob. should have upgraded the isolastic to the vernier type...but didn't...
I just passed the 100 mike mark on the rebuild...
Do u think its time to"Have at it?"

Thanx

The XS 650 valve seems to be the preferred item (forum search: "XS 650 valve")

What pressures are you using front?/rear?

What clearance are the Isolastics set at?

Amend to the tire pressure feedback, more so on such different sizes. I've investigated this a bit on my Combats to find slightly weird fighting back of front road following against the rear if the front pressure was not somewhat lower than rear, usually by 2 lb but case stiffness and size may take more lower front to not conflict with the big boss in the rear. W/o a good hot engine and lightened bike the 120 definitely adds a sluggish sense to flings but gets more traction on Gravel and better mileage than narrower tires. I set rear pressure for the sense of ride roughness and comfort over expected road texture and load carried, then diddle the front down till best ease of steering balance. This is totally ignoring the standard cold PSI wisdom that's supposed be set to raise 10% when fully warmed.
Also tire wear and age really mess with a isolastic Cdo feel, so may not get good joy till new tires fitted.
