While I twiddle my thumbs I've been playing around with little experiments to shed light on some of the mysteries of ownership.

Today I replaced the crankcase breather pipe and air/oil separator with a clear tube to see what's going on. Test was done with oil level just above min. I shot three vid's, one with the engine not run for a day, one with a five minute break and one with a two hour break. All were essentially the same. Revved the nuts of it on one - no change. Remember it's also getting rid of water and fuel vapour.

Nice one, good vid.

How about fitting one of the cheapo reed valve type NRVs into that clear hose and running it again?

My hypothesis is that reducing the back and forth motion of the gasses will draw less oil mix up the pipe.

Excellent video.
Nigel, I think you're right.
Put a reed valve in the breather line.
As is, engine is obviously sucking air into case between pulses. You can see fluid moving back and forth in the tube.
Reed valve will help reduce case pressure and should reduce oil being pushed up the breather.
If there is no change then I would think the villain my be too much ring blowby pressurizing the crankcase.
