Good evening,
I just bought my first project Commando roadster built in july 1971.
I'm starting the restoration and I will update you with pictures and ongoing status.
I would be glad to receive some tips and technical informations.

marmezza thanks for saving another Commando for us and bringing some Italian flavors too. Best wishes on catching up on Commando lore and simple complexities. Most gals seems to like their ride over others, which makes me ask, is it still common to pinch cute cheeks?

Welcome and where in the world are you? We have posts from all over and always looking for some new locals.

Welcome to the forum.

You have an excellent "before" (restoration) photo there!

Steve, you really don't need to go there. And I'm the original dirty old man.

Ciao,
And welcome.
Where you live in Italy?.
Where you found such gorgeous bike?
I am PM at your disposal for any need you have in the course of the restoration of the bike.

By Golly : It needs a good clean . Ignore all these remarks about filthy lucre .

good to see . Elbow Grease and fastidiousness are the most important ingrediants .

Thank you for your warm welcome!
I do not have an heavy wallet but I do have a huge love for Commandos.
To me it has been more simply (and more funny) to buy a project and to spread the expenses amongst the time than to save money to buy a restored one.
Here you are some more pic... yesterday I placed a large order to purchase lots of pieces... soon I will start to dismantle the bike...

Only few things I know about this bike, she was boght in Italy in July 1971 and she was originally signal red but I will paint in vivid black...

hehehe, oh yeah most of that will just buff right out with enough filthy lucre. Going through soup to nuts really makes it personally yours. Can look at and and handle longer than center folds too.

and here it is!

the original colour seems to be really SIGNAL RED which someone told me very rare.
but I really still like black the most... :? :? :?

don't know what to do... but if I consider that I don't have the original side panels...mmm :?: :?: :?:

This one will sure give you something to do at night for a while.

Welcome to the pain and joy of Norton ownership and this forum.

Marmezza I'll try to ignor what you said about Signal Red and welcome you to the group. Always willing to help and we like pictures.
You seem to have the right attitude and skills so maybe in a year or two we hope to see her resurrected.
