Trying to establish data on control levers for early Commandos. Here is parts diagram.
I need to know if the clutch levers were 7/8 pivot or something else.....I am not referring to the handlebar size or mount.
This would be lever 18-752
Any documentation on this control lever subject?

There's very little info or availability on the early levers. I have all the numbers, but they're in the book like you've posted. Either Amal or Dougherty(sp?) numbers. The levers are 7/8" center. I got a lever alone from Walridge and it matched great. Got some of the parts from Brit Bike in OH I think, many years ago. Let me know if you need more info, I have it all, but finding parts is going to be hard. There was a place in UK that I was dealing with, Hawkshaw I think, and they seemed to have some that looked right, but I never bought anything from them. PM me if you like. I have a thread a long time ago about the early levers and plenty of pics.

Thanks Dave, is there any documentation on Norton control levers and their pivot distance? 7/8", 1", 1-1/6", etc.
For any model Norton? Ever?
Owners manuals?, other published material?
Thank you

Check Andover Norton as they list levers under those factory numbers though I suspect they will be pattern and I don't know how good a copy.

My brother and I both use Tommaselli Matador levers. They look right on a British bike (obviously not Japanese looking ) They were used on early Ducatis, and are what was used on some British racing bikes in the sixties. :

I am pretty sure that 7/8 was the standard pivot distance, but it would be nice to have a reference.
It would be nice to reference a current 2014 Doherty catalog for these levers.

What is the diameter and thread of the screws ? I have a set that measures .202 dia and what
looks like 26tpi at 9/16" UH length. The only thing close I see listed is whitworth instrument.
Any idea where to find some in cheese head?

The screw is 18-087. Britishonly.com has them for less than $3. Don't forget the nut, 18-053. Don't know what thread it is, probably a BA. I got a few parts for the levers from them a few years ago. I had to send one back, the chrome was bad, but they replaced it. The part numbers are in the 68-70 'Spares List'.

I am pretty sure he is asking about the clamping screws at 1BA diameter
11-013 and 11-014

back to Amal pivot .....a search of Walridge Excel shows 18-752 clutch blade with 7/8 pivot.....which was my concern.
The brake lever, same thing, 7/8 pivot, part number 18-754
