I recently put a new (stock) coil in my 1968 BSA 441 Shooting Star, cleaned up some wire connections cleaned the carb & did a general tune up.. Since then it's been running great, starting almost allways on the 1st kick and a joy to ride again. Tonight I went to a little "bike night" and on the way home one of the nuts that hold the wires on the coil came loose, the bike started cutting out and died. I had not taken my tool kit so I tried to snug it up by hand. Didn't get it tight enough I guess cuz it wouldn't start. To tired to deal with it tonight. My question is could this wire connector coming loose do any damage?? Not sure yet if it's the + or - side that came loose... Thanks, Glenn.

If it's the feed from the switch to the coil, originally -ve, the stray end may have shorted against the engine and blown the fuse.
