    Hi all:

I am starting down the road with the Caswell Cad Copy plating kit and need the variable electrical supply SPC-9250.

May I borrow, rent, or purchase your unit for the duration of my project? I am trying to do this over the course of a few weeks without having to spend the money on a unit.

    Many thanks!

I use this one for my plating but you could get by with a smaller one.

John - although I don’t recommend it ( too laborious) you can make a power supply with batteries & lamp bulbs as resistance to adjust current- I believe the Caswell plating manual shows how . That being said I can’t imagine doing it this way - turning the dials on the power supply is much easier. I don’t know what the power supply sells for these days but does not seem that it would be a whole lot more than renting one for a month ( if you can find a willing owner ) and shipping both ways . If you can at all afford one to own it will be yours for future projects . Beside plating it can be used as a power source for testing components.
