BSA?

A friend of mine was in another guy's garage and saw an old motorcycle covered with junk. The guy said it was a BSA. My friend said that the right side cover of the engine reminded him of a Norton. It had a trident (3 prong fork) pointing down on that cover.
Any ideas?
 
Sounds like an A10 BSA. Maybe. I guess you could mistake the BSA logo for a trident. If you squinted hard enough.

That makes perfect sense. The bike was under a pile of junk and was shed weary (dirty).
