I went to the event to give my "new" Dominator 88 SS its first decent run (about an 80 mile trip each way for me).
Quite a few other interesting bikes there, including three Vincents (the "Egli" is out to 1200 cc), a four pipe late model Arial Square Four, an OHC Velocette KTT, three BSA Rocket Threes, a BSA A65, and a BSA single (441 maybe), and a pre-unit Triumph.
Of the Nortons, the majority were, understandably Commandos, but there were two Featherbed OHC Internationals. I myself parked next to a very nicely done Mercury which was out on its first run since its restoration.
I rode down with two guys on 850 Commandos. Needless to say, my 500 was down on power compared to the 850's, but it still kept up very easily, and in fact I was surprised just how well the engine performs! And the bike seemed MUCH more manoeuvrable than the Commandos, and quicker through the twisties. The Commandos seemed ponderous in comparison. (And I owned an 850 Roadster for 25 years, so I'm pretty familiar with them).
