A bloke around the corner from me, who has a 2015ish 961 has a problem that we're going to fix - but thought I'd asked others here if they've seen (and maybe even fixed) something similar.
The plastic housing has broken on both mounting screws that fix the alloy shell in place.
He has super-glued them back in place and we're thinking of making thin (0.5mm) alloy gussets that thread over the screws then bend to overlap the plastic housing. Would screw them to the housing using very small (sunglass?) screws
See pics below.
Any better ideas?

Aprilia Speedos do not use superglue compatible plastics so I had to use a special glue which included a primer.
Thanks - there are various options there - which one(s) do you recommend?
Cheers
Rob
Edit: sorry, did not read properly - the one for PP, PE & PTFE. Thanks

As Kommando says, and in my experience superglue only works on one type of plastic, the lid of the tube it comes in !

I've just finished repairing the airbox on my Morini Camel, and found "Marley" solvent cement normally used for gutters worked very well. It dissolves the top layer of plastic at the joint and fuses it together.

Cheers,

cliffa.

As its made by VDO and has a CE mark it should also be marked with the type of plastic for recycling purposes. VDO would also know.

I had the same problem and superglue was only a temporary fix as it broke away again, I roughenened up the surfaces and melted the plastics together with a soldering iron then used epoxy putty to build around the broken post and it has been a success ...so far (8 months)
