Hi do any one now how to test the Boyer ignition system. I have power to the white wire and a good earth from the battery. Should have said this is a positive earth bike. 1971 commando 750 with a (rgm twin output coil) I have taken the spark plugs out and no spark across with ignition on and kicking bike over. I have rebuilt bike from basket case. And has new wiring loom, all lights work fine and installed new electronic regulator with capacitor. If you can help it would be great. John. Norfolk. Uk

Have you ran an earth wire from the engine back to the battery ?

John L said it has an "rgm twin output coil" in which case an engine earth isn't necessary.

A low tension ignition box return lead is a good idea, although not necessarily via the engine.

Yes, however, although it isn't shown on the wiring diagrams, the harness already contains the necessary 'return' (red) wiring.

Thanks for all your comments, I found a red earth wire not making a proper earth at a joint.all seams ok now. Many thanks
