So I bought these blacklights because they were cheap and I wanted to see what you could actually see with them.

Interestingly when I shined the light on the old Norton engine there were a few spots were the old oil was that fluoresced. I doubt there was a specific UV dye in the oil so I don't know if that just common, or maybe most dino oil will do that? I need to see if it will help me find some leaks on my car.

Oh, and whatever you do... DON'T shine the blacklight around the house. Especially on the carpets if you have pets or kids.

That being said my OCD mother-in-law is going to get one of these lights as a "gift". :confused::cool:
 
Now that I live in Arizona my black light gets used for scorpion hunting. Those stingy little devils glow nicely under the light as does dog whizz. I guess that my wife's "perfect" dog is not quite so perfect after all. swooshdave, make sure to include a case of batteries with the "gift". I laughed my ass off imagining my mother-in-law and especially my sister-in-law and their reactions to what these lights reveal. Christmas shopping done! Thanks Dave!

Does it also reveal cam spots? I think there was a thread recently trying to figure that out.
 
You might want to smoke some weed, put some Hendrix on the stereo, make sure your bike is on a shag rug, before you look into anything further. You'll see all kinds of stuff. Shag rugs work well under the center stand when strobe timing. Just don't drop and small hardware in there, you'll never find it.

Luckily it’s legal here. The weed, not the shag carpet.
