    Black or polished?

I like the black but the polished looks more classic and fitting.
    Your thoughts?

Black suits my naked, and shiny is just another thing to polish

I agree. I like the black on my Naked as well. But kinda like the classic looks of the polished too. I agree, more labor to keep them shiny.

What if they were brushed aluminum?

I like the black rims/spokes with black forks.
Polished alloy rims with aluminum or gold colored forks.
Black rims give the bike a nice vintage look as opposed to the classic polished alloy rims/bright spokes.
Both are a bitch to keep clean and polish, but both are magnificent eye candy when you're done.

I think it depends on the rest of the bike. If it has a polished chassis pack and bright paint (silver, white, etc) then polished rims look best.

My bike has a black theme going on, so nothing would look better on mine than black rims.

Actually, on a Dommi naked I think satin alloy rims would look right. They could either be polished and then flattened with Scothbrite, or they could be anodised in satin silver. Anodising would, of course, be much more maintenance free.

Keeping polished alloy spoked rims in top condition is a real PITA IMHO, but then again I’m something of a lazy b***ard in that regard !

    Black is the new black:

    That's a beautiful combination.
All it needs now is a supercharger.

Definitely black - givesthe Dommie the right “moody look”

As FE says the polished rims are a pain to keep clean and as I am a bit OCD my rear rim is being replaced as it deteriorated significantly whilst in the garage over winter - probably as a result of not keeping as clean as possible .....

I just pick a day when the weather is suitably lousy, put the bike on a stand, and then spend an hour or two cleaning/polishing the rims and spokes.
I have three bikes with laced wheels so, a day per bike, then the wheels are beautiful again.
If you have stands that allow the wheels to be rotated easily, makes the whole process bearable.
Some classical music, a few bottles of beer, and before you know it, you're done, or loaded.
    It's all good.

This has got me thinking of going back to my black tank again.
    Opinions?

I have OCD bad. I detail my bikes throughly before and after each ride. I use WD-40 and or detail spray on a micro fiber cloth to clean my bikes along with brushes and compressed air. Then cover them.

I love black, but it’s a labor to keep it looking perfect.

I need a original vintage bike, patina I love.

I just noticed you have black Öhlins. Damn that looks awesome on all black!

I need to remove my reflectors. How did I never think of that.

The reflectors should be compulsorily removed as soon as the bike is collected!

IMHO, your Donnie naked would be best with satin alloy rims.

You can put black rims on if you like, but it still won’t look as sexy as mine !!

By alloy you mean cast / forged wheels?

Absolutely not! Just satin alloy finish on your spoked alloy rims.

It would match the naked theme of the satin tank, bare frame, satin CF, etc.

Only IMHO of course. But then, I do have exceedingly good taste...

    Lol.

    That’s what I thought.
I’m wondering if I could get a photoshopped picture of my Naked with satin spoked wheels.

    Curtis,

I was out early today on my T100 too.
It sat the most last year so wanted to get it in shape early.
Have to de-winterize my 961, fix the leaky oil strainer 'O' ring, and clean her up.
We'll have to get together soon.
