Dear all,

It is my difficult task to be the bearer of very bad news.
Our dear friend Yves Van Heers (aka. Yves Norton Seeley on this forum), has been the victim of a very serious crash while riding his beloved 920cc Seeley Norton on Saturday late afternoon. A stupid driver made a u-turn across a double white line on a bridge access road just as Yves was coming by at normal riding speed for the area, around 45MPH most likely. He couldn't avoid the impact and is severely injured.
He suffers from multiple fractures: foot, hip, ribs, 6 vertebrae and wrist. He also has a collapsed lung.
Luckily his head never touched the ground. He has been taken in intensive care at the local hospital, a close friend went to see him last night (one person only is allowed to see him for max 20 minutes per day).

He doesn't feel pain as he is heavily sedated and is 100% conscious when awake, only a few minutes at a time apparently.
A serious cause of concern is his heart condition, which is bad enough to have prevented the doctors to perform any surgery on him until now, and that isn't good at all.

As some of you may know, his wife Marina is handicapped and requires Yves' help for most aspects of their home life, so the present situation is a total disaster for both of them.

Obviously, friends and family will help, but this is an extremely difficult moment.

Yves is very proud to be part of this Access Norton community, which he keeps close to his heart.

I will try and post regular updates about his condition on the forum . Yves believes in friendship much more than in any God, so please send him some strong Norton vibrations from around the world.

Thank you on Yves' and Marina's behalf.

Bruno
