in paper this morning a columnist discussed best Christmas song , he went through several , decided maybe “Fairytale of New York” was his fave for this year .... Always liked Bob Seeger version of Drummer Boy , but gave a listen to Fairytale ... writer may be correct! .... other suggestions please ! My children and grandboy will visit over the Holiday and would like to impress with some new music .....

Fairytale of New York has been censored by some radio stations in the UK
Despite it being voted best Christmas song ever a few years ago

Yes that was mentioned and dismissed in today’s article

I always like listening to “driving home for Christmas” especially on the lastwork day before the holidays

Thanks for reminding me. I often download music from Youtube, then strip the soundtrack as an MP3, using Any Video Converter. I have a memory stick full od music which I must take to the family Christmas do, down in Melbourne tomorrow.

Thanks to all ! For all the great selections please keep them coming , Christmas Day can be long , especially with a 7yr old running around ....

Good one GRM ! Open to any all Christmas tunes ! Thanks for every opinion and suggestion ....

You won't beat "santa baby" but It has to be by Earther Kitt

I've got a 7 yr old, a 5 yr old, a 3yr old, a wife and a stepdaughter. My step daughter and the 7 yr old, will be going to Melbourne on the train, the rest of us will be going by car. Hopefully the weather will be cool tomorrow, the trip is 200 Km and there is a risk of bushfire.

Greg's is my favourite Christmas song by a long way & I like to think Prokofiev would have approved. I saw ELP & later Keith, Greg, & Carl all solo. The most talented rock musicians I have ever seen. Sadly only Carl is still with us.

Wasn't Keith a Commando owner?
