The new, improved website should be up in the next few days so I hope to have deliveries to make there.
The BMW restoration won't be finished so I'll be Subaruing it (look for a lifted Forester with a basket on the roof).

Wesley and me have only one firm trip this year and Barber's motor sport festival is IT. About 11-12 hr drive for us in Ozarks. Hope to have 2 Cdo's working by then to putter around the big place. Its like 3 separate shows at once. Hi end money show in Museum with sponsors and owners hob-nobing, race and track itself with the adrenalized to drained crew and pilots, plus the swap meet gypsy camp crowd. The actual participants of each of the above is pretty much locked into their arena so not that much mingling of them. It us free cannons that can really get the full flavors wondering around as weather and mood moves ya.
Too bad we won't get to see that hard competition in the big twins as Kenny already locked up enough score to scar em off.

I am back at work in NW Louisiana, I'm going to work right up until the Festival and leave from here rather than go home first (Shreveport to B'ham beats Houston to B'ham) so my "rally-stuff" is is my Motel room (including my new, Straw hat with a Bazillion pins stuck in it).

Not necessarily so!

I make it a point to do all three every time I'm there. If I make it out there this year, it will be my third time competing there, and my 6th time at the place. (plus twice at the old location downtown) There's no way I can get anywhere close to Birmingham without stopping in.

Paul is the old location where he keeps all the other bikes not in the museum? I am getting nervous about trying to ride the old girl that far. For the past five yers it's been flawless running and this year of course she is starting to act up nearing the fun trip. I may end up riding a newer bike, big thumbs down.

The old location was attached to the dairy business building in the middle of downtown. I thought they had a huge basement at the new museum where the "stash" is kept, though...

What's up with your bike?

Ahh, just actin up. I think I just get nervous when I think about taking an old bike on a long trip. She probably just needs a thorough goin through. I know several people that volunteer at the track and I could have sworn one of them said there is another building with a huge stash as in hundreds and hundreds of extra bikes. I was told a lot of them were still off site, but they may have been moved by now.

It would make sense that a bunch of bikes are kept at the old location, they have a fenced compound of about a city block with several buildings.

Besides Barber's bikes, a lot of folks place thier bikes on display for a season or indefinitely.

Ok Paul you are exception to the rule fitting in so much at such big scattered event.
We'll be camping like a Bonnie and Clyde, in our truck of car seats.
Hope to see many folks there and try to stay out of their hair.

If you go to the race, you have to visit around the pits. There MIGHT be one, or maybe 2 people, out of the several hundred racers, that get annoyed with people in thier pits, but typically thier wives will shoo you away.

Everyone else enjoys company in the pits, and love to talk about thier race bikes.

Hobot, you could always camp in my bike trailer in my pit space, I'll be staying at a hotel w/ wyfe & kid.

If I go, I'll be racing my '69 Bonnie in the Historic Production Heavyweight class.

No racing, vending or anything but bench-racing, tire-kicking and Beer-drinking for me.
The museum just blew me away and the BVF is supposed to be huge fun, since this is my first time there I'll just be "taking it all in".
My new and improved website is (mostly) finished (even I was shocked at how much NOS stuff I have) and "live" on the Intertoobz.
