Ballast resistor replacement (auto) ?

Any reason I cannot use one of these as a replacement. I measured mine last night and the resistance was 10ohms. There was a flaky connection. I cleaned it up and resoldered it and it is now about 1.9 ohms which is within spec. I am just concerned that it may not last.

Sure if the coils don't get unreasonably hot and the resistor don't smoke then you got er licked.

I went to electronic ignition and removed mine. I think I still have it laying around. Want me to drop it in the mail to you?
