Alright so I have some mullah ($) to burn and I just cant decide what to spend it on. It MUST be spent on Marea, my mk1 850 all matching number roadster (thus named after my mum who gives me about as much trouble).
What I have thus far is
all new 3 phase alternator,
landsdowne kit,
36mm vm mikuni (hmmm)
Maney belt drive
Boyer
Hagons
Mk 3 iso upgrade
Spin on oil filter upgrade
Dave Taylor head steady
Rgm 12" disc & grimeca caliper
Braided brake line
Braided oil line
Barnett plates
Turcite fork bushes
Refurbished box
Fresh head
Rebuild engine (inc new cam std/pistons etc. all except crank bearings)
Viking big bore - not fitted. Hate it due to the shit I went through to get the thing. Don't ask

Next rebuild I'll hot up the cam and go Carrillo rods w/hicomp lightweight pistons.

I really like the idea of sun alloys, flatslides, a hunt magneto etc but am after other ideas or what the forum members think is an alternate AWESOME BIT OF KIT I SHOULD BUY.
please help????

About time the little boy in you got his wish list fulfilled. Don't have to tell me about Vicking Exhaust hassles and mis fits in past.

............."but am after other ideas or what the forum members think is an alternate AWESOME BIT OF KIT I SHOULD BUY.
please help????"...................Why more of JSmotorsports goodies of course, the complete cam/lifter kit with behive springs , valves and titaniun retainers with a maney aluminum barrel and a fullauto head:) IMHO but you already have the rebuilt engine...you'll just have to go riding and wear it out so you can get all the new stuff. what about a set of rear set foot pegs. There was a thread a while back on a really nice set. Alton electric starter kit. A bangin' paint job on your tank and side cover tins. CNW electronic instrument gauge cluster......Man, this list could go on and on ----

WHY buy a Boyer ignition when you can have a TriSpark? Or even a Pazon or Sparx?

I've had 3 trispark units fail on me. Covered and acknowledged as manufacturer ing fault. I sold the brand new 4th unit sent as replacement under warranty on eBay.

The 36mm Mikuni has to go sooner or later. Maybe replace it with JS Motorsports Flatslides or a set of Amal Premier carbs.
If you ride a lot, Don's new brake slider setup, or a set of shocks with adjustable damping like Ikon 7610-1653.

ride it : burn your cash in fuel rather than hardware! Norton are build to spend time on the road

+1 - much nicer to see pics of where you've ridden your bike rather than all the crap one buys for it and then it just sits in the garage for the weekly photo forum photo-shoot

I mind the snow packing up in tires as much as mud but snow angles are rather less messy but not necessarily less soft a landing. When Ya got more power than traection, which can well be the case in a hopped up leaning Cdo even on tarmac, so power alone tips bike into leans, then better learn about straight steering, so practice makes... for nerve wracking bike busting lesions.

I've had the js 32mmflatslides but wasn't happy with them. It was a few years ago but I was one of the few who had some problems. Jim was fantastic tho with regard after sales service and support.
I then went to a mikuni 36mn flatslide pumper carb but it didn't fit without frame mods so settled for a standard vm36. It does the job but that's about it.
I like the idea of going back to the new amals but don't know if they will be up for the job with regard the next rebuild. I ride every day so rebuild won't be in ten years so to say.

I ride every day of the year except when I am so hung over the sound of the peashooters is like thunder in my skull.
Rain hail or shine, I ride, unless the bastard behind my eyes leaves me invalid on the couch.

Oh dear I see what we have here, the weather channel

I'm keen to hear about AWESOME SHIT to blow cash on.

Nice! - so besides owning a commando it sounds that like myself you have little in common with most members of this forum riding wise!
