Does anyone have any information on the type of supply and return oil hoses that were used on the very early commandos. My '68 was very original and had smooth oil lines that had the factory crimped ferrules. I looked at another '68 that is completely original and it also has smooth hoses. The parts book calls for herringbone oil hoses. I wanted to see if anyone could offer any information as to which is right - or are the both correct?

I have both herringbone and smooth hose but figured that since I am going to have to wrestle to get either hose type on I want to use whichever is correct.

Thanks

I can say my APR 69 came with smooth oil lines, like maybe 5/16 ID and the smooth crimped ferrules on the ends. Can't speak to the earlier Commandos. It may be that the factory had several types of lines and used both? I guess that's not much of an answer, but at least what came on mine. If you want a pic, I may still have some of the lines.

My '68 has smooth lines also, though I am thinking of going with braided stainless just to raise the bling quotient :-)
