Dennis, you had the name right. Red Wing made shocks in the 70's for all kinds of bikes, especially dirt bikes before the long suspension and single shock days. The Assault was one of their spin off brands. I had a set on my Hodaka. Cheers, Frank

They also made shocks for bike bikes Honda 750's, Triumph, BSA and Norton. These are supposed to fit Norton and are NOS from the 70's.

A little research on the web says they were made by the same company that made KYB shocks.

Still wondering if they are any good.

My recollection is they were ok. I never had them on anything big. So can't be of help there. Cheers, Frank

I would think twice about buying old shocks, even if NOS, seal shrinkage and leaks come to mind
