Anybody bought one of these?

Not I. Fred and Ella over at http://www.oldbritts.com/14_061885.html are asking $420 USD/$583 AUD for their new lightened rotors, and I trust them. I'd be nervous buying something for my brake system that went for that much less without being proofed, and I don't care to be the one doing it!

Burton bikes
Good firm good spares. Cant see a problem as Triumph one are selling for £60.

BBB is good to deal with and you won't have any problems dealing with Danny, very fast delivery world wide.

My friend had an RG500 Suzuki to race at Bathurst. Because the bike had chromed aluminium discs from which the chrome used to spall, his father made a pair of grey cast iron discs from some off a fork lift. At the end of Conrod Straight at Bathurst, the discs exploded off the bike. When my friend passed Mick Hone, he was climbing off the back of the bike. He died in the spectator area. If you are playing with brakes - think about what you are doing. It is unlikely that a pair of steel discs would fail, but can you be sure ? Most guys who make aftermarket components for motorcycles are not materials' scientists.

I used to buy from Burton Bike Bits when they were a proper old Skool shop in Burton.

More recently I’ve also begun to use the digital age BBB.

I’ve never had any bad parts from them and their service is super fast.

I’d have no reason to doubt the quality of that disc.

Looks like the one RGM had issues with, made by Velocette in the UK. There was a dish shape to the disc and a run-out so check before fitting.

I have that disc but haven't tried it yet. Sourced it from someone on this forum.
Not a lot lighter than stock

Rotor weights vary a lot . A stock Commando brake rotor is 5 lbs 4.4 oz. (2393 g.) while my CNW Brembo disc is 3 lbs. 8 oz. (1588 g)

Thanks for the input guys, I'm not bothered at all about weight, i don't intend to go racing
Now, yes I know i'm a very very sad shallow person but i'm just attracted by the bling

Reducing unsprung weight isn't just about lightening the bike for racing - it has a very favorable effect on handling.

The Dunstall name has been acquired by Burton Bike Bits in the same kind of way the Lucas and Hepolite names have been acquired by Wassell. Which means those discs have as much connection with Dunstall as the aforesaid two other brands do with the names they're sold under.

BBB is one of a small handful of retailers I'll never use again, after having been sent inferior parts, clearly different to what I specifically asked for and checked on the phone that they would be what I was looking for, and then excused themselves by saying they didn't have any in stock so sent what they sent (without any kind of explanation, nor a reduction in price despite the inferior parts being a lot cheaper). Yes, they refunded me (rather reluctantly), but any dealer who operates like that won't get my custom or recommendation.
