another A 65 breather question

The A65 drive side case contains the rotary breather. Not this one. Part one of the breather assy. is a flat disc which is trapped by the cam bushing. The case I have has just the bushing. The exit hole is very close by with no pipe to fit a hose to. Is it completely unreasonable to build the motor without the breather parts? Pulling out the bushing is a big problem.

Could you fit a spigot into the breather hole ? If so you could fit a rubber pipe with a reed valve inline

that would be ideal. depends on clearance with the sprocket

The breather on A65s is the same type as Norton fitted to pre '71 twins, consisting of a rotary disc & spring. This vents through the drilling in the D.S. case. A pipe was never fitted because it isn't needed.

problem solved...the owner is taking the case back to the machine shop to replace the cam bushing, reaming to fit. In goes the breather disc.
