I had priced up the rather nice seat and Norton embroidered seat cowl on the Mk2, to replace my rather plain seat and cowl on the Mk 1 CR. Expensive - nearly A$1000 all up with import taxes. I like it, but not that much!!

Took the seat cowl off and proceeded to my nearest embroidery place with a representation of the Norton logo and asked if they could embroider ‘Norton’ on the seat cowl pad. No sir, was the reply, that would be breaking Nortons patent/copyright and is against the law, they could shut my business down!

Had to laugh, embroidering ‘Norton’, on a Norton component that I own, from a Norton bike that I own!! WTF.

Will try one of our local Asian textile providers, it will be done before I can get my wallet out.

Get it done in Chinese writing. It will confuse every one, and the way things are going, the Chinese are going to own Norton anywayo_O:)

And you'll get the jump on many as they already own this country, we just haven't woken up to the fact yet.

Find a Mr Norton in the local phone book, buy him a drink and give him the taxi fare to go get his name embroidered on the pad.....
