Amateur motorcycle mechanic burns family home down:

There was one of the top European road racing guys who was killed in a caravan fire while fixing his bike. I can't think of his name, but it was in the 60s.

A fire extinguisher is an essential piece of kit in the workshop. Fortunately I never had to use mine.

In college, I brazed some petcock bungs on my BSA C-11's tank and the welding prof made me fill the tank with water AND clear the building before I started.

So many adverts, it’s practically unreadable.

The internet has become a battle to use, I use the extension uBlock on chrome and the page shows as ad free to me but uBlock reports it stopped 38 pop ups, why do sites do this, surely they know it either pisses people off or the ads are never seen. Both result in the ad income dropping to zero.

Many years ago, I was trapped in a laboratory fire in which petroleum ether was involved. The heat was horrendous. If you have a petrol fire in your garage, it is doubtful that a fire extinguisher would do much. Best move is to get out quick, even better is to not let it happen in the first place. In any situation, you always need to manage the risk appropriately.
