I got a set of these for the Oz Vincent twin, the bike we tour on. It had worn out Mk 1s on there, 50,000 miles or more. The slides were so badly worn that fuel mileage dropped from about 50 mpg Imp to barely 40. In addition the idle, which for the longest time was always reliable, became nonexistant. Starting was also getting to be more and more difficult.
Just by bolting these on, the bike has returned to one kick starting mode. Once the idle was adjusted, I have a smooth low idle that is unchanging even in very hot weather. This is a must for the inevitable congested city driving that happens somewhere at least once on every long trip. Nothing worse than a bike that wont idle when hot and wont restart when it dies at a busy intersection.
The pulling power from low throttle in high gear at 45 or 50 is much greater than before, guess that is due to the proper fitting slides.

Will check the mileage out next week. My wife and I are headed out on another big trip, not 3,000 miles like the one last month., but perhaps 1500 or so.

Thanks Jerry, the carbs were a good deal and exactly as ordered.

Glen
