I want to replace my old, tired, worn Mk1 concentrics with a new Amal Premier pair. Steadfast Cycle has them for a nice price, however they list them with 260 main jets and I have always used the stock 230 mains. Is there something I don't know about these carbs or the effect of modern fuels on jetting? The bike is a Mk III with stock air box and drilled black caps.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

The standard main jets for a Mk3 with the original plastic airbox and black caps would be 220/230.

The 260 would suit a MK3 when the black caps have been replaced by peashooters which is a popular change.

I bought my Premiers from Andover Norton and they came with 220 mainso_O. I run a K&N filter and open black caps from RGM. Now running 260 mains, 31/2 slides, needle clip on the bottom groove , plugs still showing lean on mid range, I have just purchased the "special" needles to richen things up in the middle.

Regards
