On these new carbs, does the pilot jet get cleaned out using a #78 drill as like the earlier ones did?
Thanks,
Mike

I haven't figured out how to do it yet, but the pilot jets are being advertised as removable on the premieres. A good soak in cleaner should fix it if it is. I suppose the drill bit could be used if needed, would be much easier once the jet is out of the carb. Also, wouldn't push crud back into the carb.

NOOOOOO! No more drill with the premiers. Someone should have added a disclaimer. Just unscrew it out opposite Air screw. I found that the slight amount of light faucet grease they may have used on the o rings for the air screw got in the itty bitty tiny hole in the pilot jet, or is it the air jet. There is the side holes and the very itty bitty tiny hole down the center. I cleaned mine out a few times. They seem a little too sensitive in this regard. Not the kinda thing I was looking to do frequently in the "premiers". They're back on the shelf awaiting further deliberation.

OOPS! I had the same grease problem as Pete on the Premiers... much backfiring, failure to idle, etc.. but figured I'd be DAMNED if I'd spend the time removing a carb just to access the pilots. The drill bit in the brazing rods holder slipped right in, cleared both sides in 5 mins. Runs great again!
