After trying to adapt the chain kit for my primary belt drive... I resorted too go back 6 years ago and put back the primary chain drive.... Tks god I still have a stock cover so it was a quick install. Only problem was with the relay which goes on a U shaped metal bracket over the stock battery... I have a brand new Shorai lithium battery, smaller and therefore had to be creative... Good thing: I have now space in thr battery "space" to install the rec/reg.

Good looking installation there prmurat, how well does it work? Does the smaller battery spin the engine over with authority? Cj p.s. love that paint job & scheme.

Re: Finally in there!!!

I have been using a Battery Tender Jr on mine for 6 months. So fare, no issues. :|

18AH? Holy crap, man. what are you charging that thing with, a flux capacitor 6 phase stator?

Funny you mention charging.... The Alton alternateur gives 150w; i have a led charging light (changes color wirh voltage), when I use the atarter it turns to orangy/red and adter 20s at idle its back in the green.
Sorry for the minimum report... Once we forgot about my belt drive it took 2 hours to install, one hour for the electricity (i do not have the Lucas control anymore), and the bike started without a fuss and idled perfectly. What else would you like to know ???? It works and thats it!!!

While I am sorely tempted to get this conversion, I've just really gotten the routine down for a 1 or 2 kick scenario. Someday though, when my old body just won't cooperate anymore, this will be the solution I install.

I think the Li Fe batteries are the way to go, and they do work fine with Battery Tenders as they don't incorporate de-sulfation routines like some others do.

I haven't used any of these on my old brit bikes but do have one on my dual sport. Amazing little powerhouses.
