Had the All-British (formerly All-Norton) ride in Perth last weekend. Good rollup of around 65 bikes, the majority still Norton. After a stop at the Noble Falls tavern, and a ride through th hills, the ride terminated at Ben's workshop ( British Spares?) in Perth s northern suburbs. There was the best door prize I have ever seen, a Fullauto head kindly denoted by Ken ,to be drawn amongst participating Commandos. I didn't win, bugger. But here are some photos of the day. The full album can be seen here https://ranmar.smugmug.com/All-British-Ride-2015/

how on earth do you people keep your bikes this clean??

By cleaning them?? The red Mk 111 is mine, and isn't really that clean, just looks it in the picture :D

very very clean, how much rain do they get in Perth. we have enough in Blighty for Australia and America. looks great to see all these bikes out on the road as it should be.

Don't worry they don't all look like this.
This is a shot of the bike that won the head. Ughhh!

I have to say that you Aussies certainly turn out some very very nice bikes. Hats off to you all. Those two high pipe bikes in purple and blue deserve a staged shot and a place on a Norton calendar. Thank you for posting pics of great bikes.

About that VR880; What´s that left gearchange conversion? Homemade or bought? Looks pretty pro anyway. And the kickstarter on the black 750 in a featherbed frame? Same question, homemade or bought? Looks the business to me, not something to fool around with....

It was a great day alright and I’d like to thank Greg for organising it as usual and to Ben at British Imports and Ken at Fullauto for their significant support. Thanks to you all. Terrific turnout. 72 bikes (41 Commandos) were the numbers I was given and the weather was kind on the day. A really nice ride through the Perth hills.

As it turns out, after being surprised and pleased to win the head, I’ll be getting it installed onto a 920 motor I have (refer new-member-introduction-t11982.html ) and will put it into my Commando for the moment.

Thanks again to everyone involved. See you next year.

Cheers,

Lance

To finish off last year’s All British Ride, here are a couple of photos of my Commando of 35 years with its new Fullauto head installed. It doesn’t look as out of place (too shiny) as I thought it would. The old girl pulls like a train in the mid-range and sounds great.

Thanks to Ken at Fullauto for his very generous prize donation and to Ben at British Imports for generously donating his manhours to install the head at a time when he’s very busy. I note that Ben also sorted a few other items on the bike while he had it. Thanks again to both of you. Thanks also to Greg for organising the ride and the prize. Greg has started speaking to me again now, which is nice.

Cheers, Lance.
