1971 Commando, dual 32mm MK1 Concentrics, what options are there to the "Ham-can" air filter (I am not a K&N kinda-guy!)?

So far:
S&B (if they still offer it)
UNI # UP-4112 (if they fit)
UNI #NU-6001 (if they still make it and I have not seen one yet)
I do not think Velocity stacks will fit (I could be wrong about that)

1971 Commando intake ports are 30mm right? what would I lose/gain by running 30mm carbs instead of 32's? (1.5" headpipes with short Megaton "Loudeners").

If velocity stacks wouldn't fit, what else would? Unless I'm mistaken, they would seem to require less clearance than most any filter.

I've got twin S&B's on my MkIII. There are no clearance problems.
[Edit]Although I may have misunderstood what you meant, as I think you only want a replacement air filter element?

Only way to know what 30mm will do instead of 32's is to try it. I've had some very nice power surprise by few mm over size carbs on smallish ports to both create a lip to trip up mixture turbulence and maybe funnel the mix in faster at lower rpms.
Smaller carbs generally give better low-mid response and spunk but not a much WOT top end power. A single 32 Amal gives a number of riders good simple performance.
Not as sexy as two bowels hanging down there, but plenty functional.

Sorry Mike, I don't, as they were already fitted when I bought the bike, and the S&B website is not helpful.

DNA Filters make filters the same shape as LAB's filters, but their web site is very hard to find them. Best to call a DNA dealer and describe the shape, and tell them size of the carb OD.
I have a pair on another bike, not a Commando.
A lot cheaper than K&N

Ram-Flo USA emails are returned as undeliverable but I have some Aussies working on contact over there.

The Ram-Flo part # is RF492, it sure looks good.

I guess this might as well have all the options listed, so far:
S&B (if they still offer it)
UNI # UP-4112 (if they fit)
UNI #NU-6001 (if they still make it and I have not seen one yet)
Ram-Flo #RF492 (if they exist)
I have an email in to DNA in Greece, we will see what they offer
