and a MK3 rear wheel as well with Heath Robinson arrangement to the master cylinder. Why the droopy seat, a lot of Commando specials have this and it spoils the lines. The rear frame loop is not bent downwards, just the seat is mounted sloping backwards.

That's simple. He bought an off the shelf generic cafe racer seat which has a flat base, and he's not modified it to clear the spine.

So maybe a MkIII chassis with a pre-MkIII engine, or it's had an e-start-ectomy...

Since it is listed as a 1975, has the Mk3 wheels and brakes, and also has the Mk3 swingarm, it seems likely that it is a Mk3 with an earlier power train fitted. But those are some pretty goofy looking foot contols.

Looks like one of Ron's bikes.

Having been impressed with another one of his restored bikes I've seen up close recently, a '70 PR, I think this one must be great also.
