Wow now that's the kinda of place you find out how fast you can or can't flip a cycle side to side. Kieth Code said no one has ever crashed throwing their bike down too fast, but boy howdy I can tell ya you can get going too fast to throw down or pick up fast enough in those chicanes. Dang great shot that will pester me too this winter, thanks.

We need a bit more info than that, GG.
Where were you, what were you doing, what did the sign say.?
AC.

It's a place called Maryhill on the Columbia Gorge in Washington State. A private road 2 or 3 miles long, apparently the first stretch of road to be hard surfaced in the state. A few clubs use it for hill climbs; skate boarders use it for downhill races: and there's some great stuff on their events on you tube. I was entered in an event run by SOVREN, the local vintage car racing organization. I really enjoyed riding hard on something that is not a race track; probably the closest I'll get to anything like the Isle of Man.

Thanks GG, Looks like a lotta fun.
Certaily more interesting than the "new" road on the other side of the gully.

I figured I'd resurrect this thread since this event is happening again this with not just one but 4 vintage bikes mixing it up with the cars.
ggryder will out again on his Herb Becker Commando, I'll be on my Seeley/Weslake and Tom Mellor should be bringing his Bonneville record setting Triumph triple. A BMW R75 will round out the foursome.
If you are local to the Pacific Northwest it might be a nice ride out - there is a car show at the Maryhill museum on Saturday 10/6 and then the hillclimb a couple of miles away on the Sunday 10/7.
Although most of the field will be cars all 4 of the bikes are currently actively road raced and they will be at full noise.
Further details can be found at the SOVREN website

Far out!! Like the Old Lewiston Highway but better cause you don't have to worry about oncoming traffic!!!

Ah yes! I've been on the Old Lewiston Highway and thought that would make a great hill climb course.

Also there's the road up to Windy Ridge on the east side of Mt St Helens. That's pretty remote, can't get many users on any one weekend. Entry fees would more than compensate the National Park for any loss of income or expenses. Something to rival Pike's Peak?

Quite a bit more dangerous though I imagine!! There are some mighty big drops off the sides of that road!! About 2000 feet elevation gain over 7 miles or something like that. Fun road on a motorcycle if any of you are ever in the 'hood!!
