961 with Alloy Tank

Hello
Here there are three 961s (2 Commando, 1 Dominator) with alluminum tanks!
This picture is 3 days old and made at the Ace Cafe Luzern, Switzerland.
I met Terry and Graham on their way down to Rimini, Italy to the International Norton Rally...
Was great when they suddenly showed up!

Thank you guys!

Oh yeah!
Definitely diggin' those alloy tanks.

Does Norton have a list price for them?
Are there different ones for Sport/CR/SF versus Dominator?

Hi BritTwit,

The hand crafted alloy tank is the same across all the 961 range, that is the one tank fits on Dominator's / SS and Cafe racer, SF, Sport. They are available to purchase direct from us or via your dealer. Please email stephen.green@nortonmotorcycles.com for further info.

My dad just got his today. I'll be sure to post pics once his SE is back together.

Please pardon my lack of knowledge. I'm new to the Norton bike as this is my very first one. A 2016 commando 961 SF. where can I purchase this tank and are they available in the US? Any prices? I assume at least a few grand? Any idea on how long it would take to receive one after a order is placed?
Thank you.

Also who makes the best handle bar end mirrors?

Hi , If you go to the Norton Motorcycles website you can purchase there . 2400 Pounds . Says so right on line. They will ship it right to you ! Of course if you want to involve a dealer you can go that route. I have MCC close so I would price it through them and then probably order it through them . MCC is only about 95 miles from me. Anytime I order parts for my Norton from MCC its pay first before its ordered. But they will have confirmation from Norton that the price is good and the parts are available. Also , if there is damage I will have the dealer handle it , take care of the reorder and return then. Sometimes the dealer route is safer for big ticket items. But again , I am only 95 miles away and I like my dealer. If I didn't , I would order direct from Norton. Right now the exchange rate is good 1 pound = 1.29 US dollar so 2400 x 1.29 = $3096 + S&H plus if customs stops it you pay a tax as well...

You may have to call Norton to get the tank . I cant seem to buy it on line. OR go the dealer route.

I wonder if you can get someone in the states to custom make it. If so, will it cost three grand or much less? Just wondering...

You may as well just get this on order , you know you want it ! And what better place to mount then on a Domi ?

Richard that is a beautiful tank !

Just got back together this morning. My dad just sent me this. I'll be sure to get photos once the bike is detailed. Lots of dirty finger prints.

looks beautiful but a lot of looking after to keep it looking like that. Certainly would grab more attention when parked up

How are you getting on with the new tank, many admirers, more than before? keeping it clean?

I am happy to swap my new titanium coloured tank off my new commando if you don't have the time to care for it. How bothersome having to polish the thing all the time. Time spent when you should be completing the service manual.

Well its my dads not mine. I would polish it all the time. I almost got one but after polishing his twice, I reconsidered. I polish my bike enough minus the tank. Id rather ride or see my kids or wife.

Someone mentioned getting the tank clear wrapped but I dont think that service was found in the States. There was a guy on the FB page doing it in the UK
