I can assure you this was not easy to get!!!! My dad blew his fork seals when he had his accident in 2015. He was not able to get parts from Norton - only the entire fork assembly (at the time - maybe things are different now with Rob on board) and we've been on the hunt for this document since 2015. He ended up using the forks from the parts bike and we let go hunting until...... last fall his new forks blew a seal. If you call Ohlins in USA they have no clue. Even when you call Ohlins in Europe they have no clue. We've had many documents sent to us from Ohlins that were close but not exact. This IS the actual Ohlins/ Norton Parts list. Thank you Google Translate. We still have no clue why this was so difficult hence why I'm sharing it with you. So now you can order seals if-and-when you need them. I suggest printing this out or saving it.

Here's a special note from my contact.
"USD forks are for track. Not for street. Just because they sell bikes with them for street does not mean they are best for it. It is because the market wants it this way. There is no benefit having USD forks for street speeds. USD requires extra care. They require constant detailed cleaning. These are things your Norton dealer will tell you at time of purchase. Öhlins tries best to make USD forks like the ones on your Norton motorcycle take harsh street elements. This is why your fathers bike and many others have this early failure. I suggest covering them with bellows or don't ride in bad weather."

So what I took from that was ->>>> KEEP 'em CLEAN BOYS!!!!

Enjoy.
PS - if you want the original PDF email me and ask.

Once again Richard, thank you for being the number 1 resource for 961 knowledge and sharing of information. I will print this off and keep it in my binder of material you have previously documented. I really hope you and Dave stay involved in the forum and maintain your passion for Norton, in spite of all that has happened. Your work is appreciated by all of us owners.

Hello Richard , Can you get the parts list for the RWU forks by chance ? Thanks

All the more reason to opt for the one piece front fender with the built in stanchion protection.

I feel quite smug now...!

I can try. But now with ROB here. I’m sure he can post it. And please also post the diagram for rear shocks of both commando and domi.

Jeez. Would have saved me a ton of work had I known we would have had this sort of help on the forum.

Rob. Can you please confirm if rear shock assy part number for 961 commando is NC4160? Thats so far the best I can come up with.

at what mileage did the fork seal fail? did it turn into a gusher right away? how long would it be ride-able if failing on a trip before requiring repairs?

apparently early failures are not unusual & by the way they describe proper maintenance requirements, which prob no one does ..actually, more info on this would be handy?

USD requires extra care. They require constant detailed cleaning.

prob more to it than keeping it externally spic & span?

what are the maintenance guidelines? at the least, regular flushes can't hurt, even if new..

Last time I spoke to Ohlins about another matter, they were recommending an annual service, which meant a full strip down by an Ohlins tech. Most road riders wouldn’t need, or be prepared to do that though I reckon.

The external cleaning remark is regarding keeping the stanchions free from dead flies and road tar etc so they don’t rip the seals.

That is very sound advice that we should all make a religious part of putting the bike away after a ride IMHO.

doesn't sound like this info is in ..i'm assuming there are owner manuals? available to dload?

looking for info on all service bulletins?

I thought most USD Ohlins use a standard 43 mm seal.
They have a dust wiper on top of them to help with the dirt.
Doesn't hurt to wipe off once in awhile, though.
