Friend says there's one of those new Commandos at his Triumph dealer. I had to see for myself so I headed out to Goldcoast motorsports NY which is only about 16mi away. Sure enough there it was . This is a multiple brand dealer selling all new bikes such as BMW,Ducati,Triumph,MV Agusta,Moto Guzzi,Aprilia,Royal Enfield,KTM and Husqvarna. The Commando sits front and center in the Showroom. I'm sure this is the third time I've seen this actual model. Once at the IMS at the Javitts and again at the Gathering. Salesmen were busy with other people so the parts guy came over and asked if I needed help. He says this one is a non running model and is there for display purposes only. Feel free to sit on it and check it out hes says that what its there for. I asked when would it be available and he says a couple of months. No mention of deposits or ordering process and prices would be in the $17k-19K area. I'm going to go back in a couple of months and see what the story is.

Maybe leave a note with the shop to give your contact info to the buyer as invitation to join in the social Norton fun. It will get good attention anywhere.

A neighbor of mine said he saw one a few weeks ago in the area.

By the way, is that an oil stain dead center below the bike? Shocking!

Looks like a urine stain. Probably from one of the naysayers who peed himself when he saw the bike in the flesh

Only in a loose sense of the word.

Truth be told, it's a prop to try to get more deposits.

An oil stain under the motor ? - thank God for that ! I was beginning to believe the bike might be as perfectly boring as a Japanese four cylinder machine. It must be a real Norton.

so it's like one of those cardboard TV's they have at the furniture store!?

17-19k. Not out of the realm of possibility for some of us oldsters but....19k, uh?
Nice enough looking though.

The price is up there. Just a quick check of the competition fromhttp://www.seedealercost.com have these MSRP prices
Triumph Thruxton ('12) $8799.00
Guzzi V7 Special $8990.00
Ducati Monster 1100 $11995.00

I just picked these 3 as what I think is its competition based on whats available at the moment. If Ducati were still producing the Sportclassic line they'd be up there too.

I've been to Gold Coast and that's the bike that sold me. I'm waiting for my order to come in. Should be around Feb. I inquired about that silver one and its not for sale. It was put in the 2013 bike show and will be shipped back to the UK due to lack of a VIN. Can't register it. As for the stain.....well...they do have a Golden Retriever AND a Goldendoodle loose in the shop. Might be a pee stain.
