$14,995 now, was $15,495. Similar in price to the only other one I could find for sale in the US. Really hard to say what a "fair" price is. There aren't many around in the US. But the fact that it has been for sale for a while would seem to indicate that the market thinks it is priced a bit high.

I'd probably rather have a low miles modern Speed Twin Bonneville (stupid double name, I know).

So sad that those bikes are orphans, but unless they've already bled out their previous owners with necessary fixes to make them reliable, you'll be up a creek without a cell phone.

I think it likely that a lot of 961 owners buy them because they are die-hard Norton fans, not because they think they are the "best" modern bike out there. I'm one of them. For us, a Triumph just isn't the same. I like the 961 because it is a modern update on the original Commando formula. But I have no illusions that it is competitive in performance or reliability with a really modern bike. I love my Triumph Street Triple, and it is higher performance than my 961 in every respect. But I see it as a bike to have in addition to the 961, not in place of it.

Sounds like I should just buy a nice MK III and save myself a lot of frustration. Not good with electronics but can keep any MK III running

I don't know, "the bloom is off the rose" so to speak.

I REALLY wanted on at first, came "this close" to sending in a deposit (that would have been a BAD idea), but circumstances changed.

In retrospect, the bike looks a bit "off" with respect to relative size of various components, and other things that are just (in my mind) not as nice-looking as the VRs or my prototype bike. I know, it's a 961, it HAS to be bigger; but it just looks too fat (as does the tank).

No, I'd rather have new Speed Twin with plenty of support from Triumph.

I've still not heard any announcements of U.S. shops that are picking up deals with TVS for the new Nortons; I wonder how they'll be treated in dealing with warranties, etc...

Congrats dude.

Did the seller mention if it had warranty fixes done early on?

You might try to find out who the dealer was, its possible they will still work on it if needed in the future...

I'm cheap! When the weather clears I will drive to Fort Collins and pick it up. Unless you know someone that will ship it reasonable? I'll keep parts, trying to find someone to reflash ECM for the new pipes, the cat in Denver phone has been disconnected. Any suggestions This guy sold it because nobody would work on it, CNW isn't that far away maybe he just didn't look?
