Anyone know where I can get a set of 961 cush drive rubbers? The parts dept at factory is still closed, and I’ve tried both Talon and Central Wheels with no luck.

Are you sure that TALON say NO ? The Talon part number was TCDR-1 , this was for the harder durometer .

After a bit of to and fro with Talon they confirm they do have these in stock. Thanks to the guys who provided me with their part no. Cost is around £39 inc postage and VAT for those in need of them, and I gather there’s a few as Sarah at Talon says she’s got a number of enquiries in her inbox. She also told me that Central Wheels stopped using Talon as a supplier some years ago and some bikes may have a different hub, so check dimensions before ordering. Talon rubbers are 32 OD x 19 ID x 10mm thick.

I would advise checking yours if mileage is above 2500 as you can’t tell these are degrading until the rubber squidges out by which time hub damage can occur. Fortunately caught mine before it was too bad.

Awesome. Just what I needed. Spoke to Sarah and they have 100's in stock, but that may not be the case forever.

Got mine from Ollie at Thiel. Was a bit pricey but not unreasonable. What I am wondering is the difference in material....

My first lot were swapped by the factory at 3000 miles and they wouldn't cover the cost under warranty....

Good find ! Here my delivery I had 18 months ago , the two little button mushroom screws are the ones that shake loose under tank, for my 2016 Mk2 SF

The TCDR-1 should outlast the Norton cush rubbers by a great deal . Be be aware that they will be tighter when pushing the cush drive bolts into them. I am using a Dremel with a sanding band to remove a bit of the cush rubber ID before installation. Others have had luck pushing/pounding them in , Or removing some off the cush drive bolt heads OD . Many ways to solve it and worth it for the added durability. These are TALON p/n TCDR-1 and I can't speak for the other brands.

Hopefully plenty of greasing - Pro RG 2, followed by a liberal dose of elbow - will sort it.

The Talon rubbers arrived within 24 hours, and total cost was £36. Fantastic service! These are much harder than the originals so hopeful of a longer life. Ordered the grease 4 days earlier but still waiting for that.

Ordered mine yesterday, they arrived today! Great service!..then I saw the requirement for the Silkolene Pro RG2 racing grease. Guess it's fast grease, right? Cue another google and order!

Just to clarify, these are only 10mm long? no wonder they take a pounding. I would have expected 15mm at least. What are the "Stronger" replacements made of?

Yep, just 10mm. I suppose the Talon style design is aesthetically quite elegant giving a smaller hub, but really it is for much lighter bikes. 80hp driving this beast via five 19mm dia pegs with all the load concentrated in one spot on just 6.5mm x 10mm of rubber is pushing it, hence a short life. I don’t know what the compound is, but it is obviously much stiffer that the ones I’ve removed.

Thanks Ren, good to know they are stronger anyway. I'm not sure why anyone would choose round pins for that application. Maybe ease of manufacture I guess ?

Well, these are mine. Pretty dire. 5k Miles. Giving them the ‘twixt forefinger and thumb’ squeeze test, I can fairly easily compress the old ones, so deforming the circle as it were...but can’t do the same on the new ones. Some damage to the hub, but liveable , but these do need checking, especially if they have never been checked. Big thanks to REN, glad I checked mine. :D

Cush rubbers and Pro RG2 grease: Talon rubbers (32 x 19 x 10mm) are available for next day delivery. I previously recommended Race and Trackday Parts for the grease, but do not buy parts from them. No dispatch after a week and they do not answer enquiries.
