850 valve guide circlips

Just finished stripping the valves out of the head, and I found what looks to be a valve guide circlip lying inside the head - in 2 halves. It came from one of the exhaust guides.

It's difficult to see clearly, but I can just make out one circlip on the other exhaust guide, but I simply cannot see if there are also circlips under the intake guides.

How serious if the broken circlip (and how the devil did it break?). Hopefully it does not mean removing all 4 guides....

Circlips.

You'd want to be fairly certain the guides were still tight in their bores, and cannot move.
And haven't been jumping about, to break that circlip.

I don't know how to check for this, maybe someone can advise ?
Heating it up and seeing if they seem loose may be one way ??
