I just love that gorgeous medium blue metalflake paint. Why have I never painted my Commando that color? It's been every OTHER color! :roll:

Looks like an award winner to be. I'll be looking for it in upcoming issues of "Motorcycle Classics"
Although my bike is red, I have a couple of paint chips on the side covers revealing that classic blue metal flake. What ashame PO painted over it. It is like they didn't know what they had.

That is a nice one - congrats!

I have a '74 original paint, but it looks a little different than this color. More "aqua" I guess is the word that best describes it... Anyway, it's in pieces now, but I will get it back together and I'm sure I will paint it someday. I can't decide if I like the original color, or yours, better. Now I'm leaning towards yours, but that could be just because your bike looks so nice and mine is, well, in pieces.

Anybody know what the name of the "other" blue color was? Or what the name of this one's was? Seems a bit odd that they came up with another blue when this one looked so good.

On the topic of colors, they didn't have too many options back then, did they?
