Either get real tall ones or put it underneath the handle bar so you can see under your arm. Bar end are good if you don't mind the look.

if you are going to use a bar end - and i like them - don't get the Napoleons - they suck - they have limited range of movement and i found that the quality is so so (cheap painted metal). for a nice bar end that old school style these are MUCH better made (real stainless!) and much greater range of movement

they don't have to go "under" the bars

Goo,
I have had the ones like the ones from Old Brits for 15 years and have had no problems. The paint on them is still fine.

I got this one at some place in NV, advertized as a general Brit bike mirror. I just kept searching for Norton mirrors. I think they also come with a longer stalk too. I had some real long ones long ago you can see in my avatar, but haven't seen anything like that lately. I kind of like the one I've got now but it will probably hit a larger than Roadster tank. What I like about this one is the plastic gizmo that keeps the handlebar from getting scratched.

I have the Napolean's form old brits. CNW has them too. Very very steady and adjustable. I recommend them. Quality stuff.
