Hi I am installing a boyer in a 69 Commando with the external housing . The instructions indicate when setting up a boyer with the plate at the end of the camshaft to set the rotor up in line with the Norton sign after setting the crank at 31 degrees BTDC and then align the top stator plate hole with white dot on the magnetic rotor. How do I set up this alignment with the external housing? where do I set the magnetic rotor and which way do I position the stator plate?
Appreciate any insight into this
Thx Drummer99

Ignore "set the rotor up in line with the Norton sign" as that's for camshaft driven points (and it isn't paricularly accurate anyway).

The external housing shaft rotation is the opposite way to the cam drive points so it's clockwise when viewed from the left-hand side.
Set the alternator rotor mark (the correct one) to 31 degrees BTDC, then position the Boyer rotor so the paint dot is visible in the clockwise timing hole of the pickup plate with the plate set mid position in the adjustment slots.
