Tearing my 68 down for restoration this weekend and was surprised to see Taiwan on underside - guessing this had to have been aftermarket replacement after someone laid it down? (Don't see same stamp on brake lever on other side)

Any advice/info welcomed.

Thanks,
Dave

The early bikes used Amal levers as I remember, at least the numbers were Amal numbers. I doubt if it says Taiwan it is original. Parts book for 68 is here. http://www.eurooldtimers.com/eng/manual ... 1970-.html I got some parts for my 69/70 from Walridge and British Only. But you need to be very specific about what you want if you want it to look original.

try again

According to the early FB handbook, the headlamp flasher (front) is green, the dipswitch is black and the horn button (rear) is red. Here's mine, I think it's the same. I've seen different length dipswitch patterns.

That lever is probably one of the replacements I got from Walridge, I don't know where he got it, but I think UK. Perfect match with the original.
