Hi. Has anyone on here come across a 29 toothed primary triplex cog? Just wondering what sort of results could be achived with one.... Thanks..

I ran a 29 tooth engine sprocket for many years, it's a better way than putting a bigger sprocket on the gearbox output shaft. It speeds the gearbox up, less torque goes through it & the layshaft bearing has an easier life.
I got it from Fair Spares, now Norvil Motorcycle Company in the UK.
Mine eventually wore out & I couldn't find a replacement one as everbody seems to go for belt drives now.
If you know where to get one from, please let us all know.

Thanks for that Pouchy... Thats what I figured would happen. I picked up the sprocket and chain, in a as new condition, on ebay for £20.00. The seller said that they had brought it from Norvil years ago and not used it in the end.. Seems like a good find. :D

I made a couple of those with 32 teeth for my sidecar MX outfit. No problem - case hardened 0,5mm deep - lasts very long. Haven´t worn it out yet.

cheers

Hartmut
