Help! I just stuffed up, I was fitting a trickle charge to the battery and had not sussed out how to remove the fuel for the tank, and I had the tank perched on top of the bike, consequently I dropped the tank, and it pulled the wires out from the connector from the loom to the fuel pump located inside the tank.
As the loom wires and the wires on the pump are all different colours, Can any one tell me which wire connects with which?
Also has any one got any tips for touching up the paint work?
Thanks
Tim
Its a 2015 model not 2012!

Tim, nightmare!

Sorry, I can’t help, with your colour codes as mine is a later Euro 4 bike.

But... to preven this catastrophe in future (and unfortunately, make you feel even worse about this one) are you aware that the factory kindly fitted a trickle charge socket, located on the RHS under the seat? It should be visible, but it may require the seat removing to see it.

Also, check out the ‘sticky posts’ at the top of this page. One07 made some manuals that are on the cNw web site that are very helpful. One is about tank removal.

Mine's a 2013, the connectors are numbered on the plug and socket.

thanks comet, trouble is that the wire got pulled out of the connector! all but one the white and green which is in a different position from yours! Must have different coloured wires on mine!
by the way how do I post images, I tried the camera icon and it says I haven't added any media but when I click the my media it doesn't do anything!

I figured your wires had pulled out, I was hoping they were the same colour as mine. I don't have a white/green wire. My connection is in line with the Euro 3 wiring diagram:

Pin 1 - yellow/green to red
Pin 2 - black to black
Pin 3 - white/yellow to white
Pin 4 - green/black to blue

I'm assuming the wires from the pump are the same (i.e. pin 1 = red etc). If so, what are the colours of the loom wires, perhaps someone else has a wiring diagram with those colours.

I haven't used the camera icon, I use the "Upload a File" option. I think you have to be a VIP member to use that - just requires a small monthly subscription to the forum.

My wiring diagram shows :

pin 4 = black wire w/green tracer
pin 3 = white wire w/yellow tracer
pin 2 = black wire
pin 1 = yellow wire w/green tracer

Mine is just like Comet posted . Have your wires faded possibly ? I do not see a whte/green .

Also , No need to remove the fuel . Just disconnect the QD fuel line from the pump . First disconnect the pump power plug and make sure key is off ! Read the Richard-7 manual to see the steps. Also , where was the tank scratched/gouged ?

Scan is poor because the manual compresses a large image into I page.
Pin 1 looks to be Yellow/Green strip. No other yellow wire.

You are all fantastic, thanks so much. the colours do match, and I'll put the tank back on today and try start her up. will let you know. This is a link to the image of the gouge in the tank.

Your bike appears to be 'Royal Red'. All of our paint colours are mixed at our painters specifically for us so do not have a colour code as such.

The only thing I can suggest is you take the tank to a paint factors and ask if they can colour match it.

Wow. I can only imagine the maniacal screaming and cussing when that happened. I'm sorry for that. I've recently had a roasting pan fall from a shelf and ding my tank. The neighborhood got an earful. And, it's not really that bad.

How's the roasting pan...?
