2 years to the day that I took ownership of this wonderful and original low mileage '74 Mk2 - my first Norton.

It's changed a little since I collected it, with a few modifications needed to keep it going, but every original part I have removed, I've kept in a box (with the exception of the left hand seat knob )

It had only done 6,614 miles when I got it, and I'm a little embarrassed to admit that in exactly two years I've only managed to put 1,454 on the clock

Anyway, thanks to this wonderful forum, I hope to put on many more miles and (hopefully) plenty more years.

Even though I’ve just converted mine to interbowser, I took one look at yours in roadster trim and thought WOW !!
They got it right with the roadster
And they got it right with the Interstate
And the fastback etc
Even the opinion dividing jps and high rider
Think of these bikes at the time they were out
The jps (styling)was maybe ahead of its time but the others were dead right IMHO
Glad you stuck with it Bonzo, do I remember you having some second thoughts right at the beginning?

I'm a big fan of the 'in a state' set up and don't plan on changing back anytime soon but if ever I feel the need I have, like you, the option 👍

I remember when I got it thinking I'd ride it all summer and get a feel for what needs doing, then sort it during the long winter months. Of course I was naive, and a few things needed immediate attention, that frustratingly kept me off the road and then one blazing summer day the exhaust nuts popped out and it sent me into meltdown 🤣
