I was there Sat. Aug., 4 for the big Jerry Woods auction of the Raber's parts and motorcycle inventory. A bittersweet day for me as I was there mainly to say hello, and in some cases goodbye, to many vintage bike friends. Hopefully their repair business will remain open?

The best looking P11 (the one with the sidestand) hammered at 9K, the other runner went for 4.5K and the frame with non matching engine parts went for $900. Add CA sales tax for in state buyers without a resale number and 10% buyers premium to get the final price as is, where is.

That frame with the cylindrical oil tank has had some interesting modifications--extra frame bracing behind the tank and new upper shock mounts. Did you happen to notice if it had a wider than stock swingarm?

Possibly why it only got $900?

Despite scheduling the auction in the middle of the vacation period, it looks like they got some good bidding action. Not really any super deals IMO on the running bikes....... tax for CA-based buyers and commission adds a total of almost 20%! The advertised NOS parts stash sounded interesting, unsure if any P11 parts were in there. Thanks for pics

Many P11 frames have been welded by inexperienced mechanics, thereby destroying the frame's alloy at the joints. This could be the case for this particular frame and the bike which had a center stand fitted. To rectify these bodges and damages, you'd have to calculate hundreds if not thousand of dollars in additional expenses.

Curious as to how they attached the centerstand. To the frame or to the aluminum engine plates?

When I get a look at it again out of the garage I can try to take a photo and let you know. The center stand on the P11 in question seems pretty solid to me. I haven't looked closely, but I'd be surprised if someone tried to weld steel to aluminium.

I recently posted another post regarding figuring some of the wiring. If anyone could shed some light to splicing a battery in would be greatly appreciated.

-Cheers
